End of a Perfect Day II
Paintings like my End of a Perfect Day collection express my growing appreciation for the real beauty of nature untamed.
In End of a Perfect Day II, A Quiet Evening at Riverlodge, the second in my End of a Perfect Day collection, I continue to explore these essential harmonies as we once again visit a cozy and rustic cabin nestled in a setting rich with drama. A mountain rises powerfully over the scene, reflecting the extravagant colors of sunset. A fishing river races alongside – its crisp, clear waters hinting at the presence of graceful, hard-fighting rainbow trout.
Activity followed by contemplation, strenuous effort rewarded by a well-earned rest, the awesome grandeur of nature complemented by the intimate charms of domesticity – these are the rhythms that define a civilized life.
What better retreat after an exhilarating day wading hip-deep into the icy waters of a mountain stream, fly rod in hand, and trout basket at the hip? A campfire stands at the ready; soon a company of friends and weary fishermen will gather around the fire, savoring cups of steaming coca and swapping outlandish stories about the one that got away. Now that truly is the perfect end to a perfect day!
- In Thomas Kinkade’s End of a Perfect Day II, A Quiet Evening at Riverlodge, Thom has hidden 4 N’s for his wife Nanette.
- End of a Perfect Day II signifies a small group of people staying in a cabin, while End of a Perfect Day I signifies solitude.
- The National Association of Limited Edition Dealers (NALED) named this work as Graphic/Lithograph of the Year and the Collector’s Edition Award of Excellence in 1994.
