Simpler Times I
My latest painting, Simpler Times I, is a statement of something I believe very deeply in: simplicity is better than complexity, and true joy is found in the foundations of life – not in the frills we attempt to add.
I believe it is possible to live in our confused and frantic 20th Century with all the peace and satisfaction of the life lived by people in the earlier, less complicated times. My hope is that this painting will remind us of the important things in life – things such as the enjoyment of the cycle of the seasons, the satisfaction of work and rest, and the security of family, home, and church.
- Thomas Kinkade has hidden five N’s in Simpler Times I as an ongoing tribute to his wife Nanette.
- Simpler Times I is the first in Thom’s new series: Simpler Times.
- Inspired by a trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, Thom painted this cabin in the woods.
- Thom hopes this painting will remind you of the simpler, less frantic times and to remain focused on the important things in life – like the security of family, home and church.
