Petals of Hope
“Somewhere there’s a garden, Where peace and love shall reign. And when I first see it, I will never leave again. A tree of hope will grow there, Flowering and fragrant and tall, And when e’er I’m fearful, Petals of hope will fall”
A close friend’s tragic loss changed my world. I was struck by the transcendence of all the good things we value so much. I came to believe that faith in God is our only sanctuary.
I began to visualize faith as a garden, where hope is in abundant bloom. My first painting in The Garden of Promise Collection, we stood at the gate of that wondrous retreat. In Petals of Hope, we’ve entered the garden where the lavish blossoms dazzle the eye and the air is fragrant with hope. As I painted Petals of Hope, the words of this inspiring poem ran through my mind, as though a gift of confirmation from God’s own hand.
- Thomas Kinkade has hidden seven N’s in Petals of Hope, as an ongoing tribute to his wife Nanette.
- Petals of Hope is the second painting in Thom’s Garden of Promise Collection.
- A close friend of Thom’s suffered a tragic loss, which prompted Thom to really focus on the sanctuary we can only find in God Himself and thus became the basis behind the Petals of Hope.
