Lamplight Lane
Quaint English cottages running along a footpath, a lively stream spanned by an ornate Victorian bridge, and sunlight breaking through clouds. It seems too perfect to be real – and yet, I painted Lamplight Lane, The Brooke Windermer and Cottage Row at Dusk almost completely on location, at a charming little village in the English Cotswolds that looked very much like this. My artistic imagination supplied only the finishing details.
I hold Lamplight Lane very dear; in fact, I’m planning to take the original into my new home as a housewarming gift to my family. May it grace your home with warmth and joy as well.
- Lamplight Lane, The Brooke Windermer and Cottage Row at Dusk is the first painting in Thomas Kinkade’s new series – Lamplight Lane.
- Thom actually gave the painting as a housewarming gift to his wife Nanette, so they decided to name their home Lamplight Lane.
- Painted almost entirely on location in Upper Slaughter in the English Cotswolds, Thom said the actual location looks like the painting.
- The Brooke Windermer is Thom’s imaginary brook that will follow all five paintings in his Lamplight Lane Collection – Thom even added the brook’s name on the right side of the house.
