Hometown Christmas Memories
Early in my career, I painted Hometown Memories as a nostalgic embodiment of the images of my childhood. The current offering of Hometown Christmas Memories recreates that painting, but with a blaze of holiday lights.
A freshly fallen snow has rendered the village lane pristine. The luminous radiance dancing upon the ground and twinkling glow from the holiday decorations reminds us that Christmas is truly the season of lights. I believe that everyone has a dream hometown buried somewhere in their subconscious. Hometown Christmas Memories recreates the fondest aspects of my childhood hometown dream.
- Hometown Christmas Memories revisits Thomas Kinkade’s hometown at Christmastime – much like his Hometown Christmas, expect with more holiday lights.
- Hometown Christmas Memories is the same vantage point Thom used in his Hometown Memories I, complete with the Dalmatian that used to chase Thom and his brother Patrick when they were on their paper route, Norman Rockwell walking his dog on the far right-side of the composition, the same classic red car and blue cars, a mother and daughter walking down the street with umbrellas – all of which Thom included in the first painting.
