Flags Over the Capitol
Flags Over the Capitol is my tribute to the American spirit. Nothing brings out American pride more than a good old-fashioned celebration with flags flying overhead and banners strung from every window. This is a time when friends, families, and neighbors join together in a spectacular display of unity and patriotism!
I hope in some small way this painting will remind people that it’s not old-fashioned to get a lump in your throat when the national anthem is played or to stand to your feet when the flag passes by.
- In Thomas Kinkade’s Flags Over the Capitol, Thom pays tribute to the American spirit and pride with a celebration.
- Thom’s wife Nanette is the young ponytailed gal in the bottom left-hand corner of Flags Over the Capitol.
- Thom was commissioned to do Flags Over the Capitol by a retired Californian politician – as the setting is the capitol building in Sacramento, California.
