Perfect Yellow Rose

A Perfect Yellow Rose is my attempt to evoke and celebrate the miracle of sunrise and the flower that reflects its radiant color. For me, the yellow rose derives some of its value from the fact that the most important women in my life – my wife Nanette and my beautiful daughers – have in common beautiful hair of a buttery goldlen hue.
Nanette has always been especially fond of roses, and yellow roses are a token of our love. As I apply the radiant pigment to my painting of A Perfect Yellow Rose, I am reminded again of the love that has filled my life with blessings.

- A Perfect Yellow Rose is the third and final painting in Thom’s rose garden triptych, thereby completing the series The Rose Collection.
- In A Perfect Yellow Rose, Thom compares the lustrous petals of the yellow rose to the rays of the rising sun frozen in time.
- Each painting in Thom’s Rose Collection has been accompanied by a poem about roses. Thom believes that for both poets and painters, roses are the flowers of love.
