Stillwater Bridge

“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green Pastures;

He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul…” Psalm 23

The cooling, tranquil feeling of resting beside still waters…what trouble or pain could not be hushed by such moments? And yet, in the rushing of our lives, each of us at times seem to prefer the raging torrents to the quiet brook – why else wouldn’t we seek daily those waters that are still? Perhaps that’s why we need a Shepherd. Who else loves His sheep enough to gently lead them to pastures green and waters tranquil?

In Sillwater Bridge, I wanted to capture th idea of a wondrous, relaxing place. A place that would invite the admirer to take a leisurely, much needed stroll along this calming stream and leave the hustle and bustle of the “real world” far behind. Still water – to me – symbolize God’s ability to see through our soul. My white and pink dogwood trees symbolize purity and passion, respectfully.

The first painting in my Sweetheart Gardens Collection – Stillwater Bridge – is an attempt to reflect and portray waters that are still and inviting. I hope his painting brings you the same feeling of peacefulness that is has brought me; and I hope that you can linger a moment or two!
